What is this text about, how do you know? - This text is about a little girl that kills butterflies to keep there cabbages safe. The girl is killing butterflies and the teacher does not know it
What does the author want us to know? - That if an insect is trying to get your food kill it. But don't kill insects if they are harmless.
How are characters constructed in this text? - They are trying to look after there cabbages but the girl tries to kill the butterflies that come near the cabbages.
What kind of social realities does the text portray? - people take care of your plants if insects are trying to get into them. But don't kill them just move them away.
